2010 Wedding Season - Here we come!

I am so excited for this wedding season. If our January sales are any indication of what is to come, we predict that the 2010 wedding season will be a very busy and successful one. Therefore, the Wedding Shoppe is excited to be making major changes this year to help meet the needs of our Canadian customers.

Last year, Canadian brides and grooms were hit hard by the recession and we noticed an increase in budget-conscientious couples coming to us to help them save money by buying online instead of a brick and motor store where the overhead costs are higher, which ultimately means higher costs for the customer. While shopping online to save money is still a major motivating factor for 2010 couples, we're noticing an increased number of inquiries for unique products, higher quality items and requests for wedding trends.

For this reason, The Wedding Shoppe will be expanding our product line in 2010 from about 1000 products to over 2000 products, while still maintaining a competitive edge from a pricing standpoint! We've done this by offering more items from our current suppliers and offering brand new products from two more up-and-coming suppliers of wedding accessories. These new items are slowly being added every day and can be viewed from our homepage under "href="www.theweddingshoppe.ca/category_s/109.htm">New Arrivals 2010" and include everything from new trendy wedding favours, bridal accessories, supplies, decor and invitations.

Some may wonder how we are able to virtually double our online catalog so quickly. Since we are an online store (without a brick and motor retail front store), we are able to add as many products as we want online and do supply orders every 1-2 two weeks and purchase only what we need (e.g., the products that our customers have ordered). While this may mean that our customers may have to wait a couple of days or weeks for their order to arrive, they end up having the advantage of selecting from a large line of products to find the perfect items for their big day to reflect their unique styles and personalities. This is something that a small motor and brick store just cannot offer their customers and a major reason why I chose to open an online store instead of a retail front.

However, we understand that some customers are comfortable seeing products in person before purchasing. Therefore, another big change for 2010 is we have set up a very small showroom in London, Ontario that showcases samples or small quantities of our most popular items as well as some of our newer products. Customers simply need to book an appointment by e-mail (info@theweddingshoppe) or phone (519-457-6446) to come view the showroom. If there is a specific product you are interested in viewing, check with us first to make sure we have it in stock.

Continue to visit our blog once in a blue new. I will continue to post news, trends, articles and other interesting wedding-related material on this blog that I hope will be relevant to my customers. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me by e-mail.

Happy Wedding Planning!

Regards,

Diana, Owner
